Join our engaging two-session course, presented by the Watershed Management Group and made possible through a generous grant from ASU. In this hands-on experience, you will discover how to install an effective rain barrel system and create a vibrant rain garden that benefits the environment and your community.

Throughout the course, you’ll gain valuable insights into selecting the right materials, exploring innovative design concepts, and mastering the essentials of constructing a raingarden including basins and berms.

Address: 880 S Cowboy Trail, Camp Verde ~ Take I-17 to exit 287 (Cottonwood/Camp Verde) and head toward Camp Verde. Take 260 until you see the Sports Complex on the left, then turn LEFT onto Champion Trail. Turn RIGHT onto Cowboy Trail, (Pass the Arena), and we are at the end of Cowboy Trail. The Teal Building is on the left



About the project at the Teal Building:

The raingarden and rainwater harvesting techniques will be implemented at the Teal Building, which is set to become a hub for stormwater innovation, education and conservation. This space will allow people to learn about drought-resistant plants and rainwater harvesting methods that they can use in their own yards, promoting responsible managemen

The Pima County Regional Flood Control District (District) hosts a monthly brown bag informational presentation on a variety of topics related to floodplain management. The meetings are presented in a seminar format and includes a guest speaker with expert knowledge related to the topic. A question and answer period is available, and Certified Floodplain Managers are able to earn 1 continuing education credit per session.

As of March 2020, brown bag meetings are now presented virtually using either Microsoft Teams or Zoom. Download the products so you are able to attend. A one-day, hands-on workshop exploring the Fundamentals of Holistic Management. Limited to 20 participants - register today! Online registration will end on April 11th, but in-person registration will be allowed before 8am on the 12th (cash, checks and/or credit cards are accepted). There will be a food truck on site with fish and shrimp tacos and drinks available. Individuals with dietary restrictions are welcome to bring a lunch, and a refrigerator will be made available for food items. Click on the ‘Register Now‘ button to be taken to the event and registration webpage, where an itinerary is posted. The cost to attend is $300, which can be paid when registering through the event webpage, or when registering in person.
